Issue - The decision to make Dholara a smart city from a deserted village was taken in 2013. To support the project and to prevent protests, the state took the support of the Special Investment Region (SIR) Act, 2009. A silent protest called the ground officer, "Hindustan Gujarat" (JAAG), was called for its concerns. But before the work begins, the trunk infrastructure for DMIC will be made by the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC). Globally renowned company Cisco has taken up the task of integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with citizen infrastructure.


 The ICT Master Plan has already been finalized. Location- Dholara is located about 100 km from Ahmedabad and about 130 km from Vadodara. This winter season is important to be a reality, apart from Dholera, plans for smart cities in Khaskhera in Rajasthan, Manesar in Haryana and headquarters in Maharashtra are also going on.
